AND THE GREATEST OF THESE (POEM)
And the Greatest of These
Burned blinded .... broken .... and torn
Mothers and children, babies unborn.
Stark hatred fashioned a bomb,
Came to a townland and lift it a tomb.
Blood streaming, mingles with tears,
Girls screaming, horror and fear.
Wild searching, rubble and stone,
Hearts ceasing to beat one by one.
Help racing in helpless array.
Mercy making a terrible way.
Aid given while sobbing surrounds,
Somehow, some way, love still abounds.
.....is love
