MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE SUFFERING
My heart goes out to the suffering'
Sir,
To the people of Omagh: I send my condolences to you all - such an atrocity is the act which took place in your town. All I can ask of you all is that you not allow this to end the peace talks in Ireland. I am just a mere mortal in England and cannot begin to imagine what you are going through but please all of you be strong and hold on to that strength and may peace and love and happiness return to you all in the future. My heart goes out to those who are suffering at this time.
To those responsible for the bomb in Omagh: I ask what you mindless, cowardly people hope to gain by the murdering of innocent people. Are you all too afraid to come out into the open and discuss and talk about your views or do you simply believe in mindless violence? Are you so stupid as to believe that killing innocent people, fathers, mothers, children, grandparents and affecting small businesses in such towns and cities will achieve the continuation of violence which you obviously seem to crave?
May I remind you that such murdering hasn't really achieved very much over the many years that this sort of activity has been going on - what makes you stupid people think that you can change this?
Perhaps I am merely a young English person who couldn't possibly understand the divisions in Northern and Southern Ireland but I do understand that to kill innocent people is wrong, and to hide and not stand up and talk about your views is wrong. Put an end to violence and killing and murdering in Ireland and let Ireland be at peace. Ireland is such a beautiful place inhabited by many beautiful people, don't spoil that - Love your Ireland, both North and South - Don't spoil it or its people. If you are opposed to the peace talks then talk about it but please don't kill more innocent people.
