HEART IS HEAVY FOR HOME TOWN

HEART IS HEAVY FOR 'HOME TOWN'

Sir,
To the people back home:
I don't even know how to pen these words, but write them I must, having been born and brought up in Omagh, and it will always be endearingly used as 'back home'. My heart is heavy, and am so saddened by what has happened. The reality was not a dream and what I saw on the television screen, and in the newspaper posted to me by my cousin, Tommy Strain, was devastating. How could God allow this to happen, and to cause such heartache and pain to all these people.
No, my God, our God, would not do this, the devil was well and truly in the hearts of the wicked men, who did, and they will be brought to justice by the God who created us all.
Maybe it will not be in this world, but when they stand before the Throne of God, judged, and given the punishment of our Father God.
I want all these dear ones who are suffering, the loss of dear ones, and those in hospitals, marked for life, to know, we are praying in our churches. In my own church, hearts are aching, filled with compassion and love, and in the privacy of our homes, we fall down on our knees, pleading to our God to wrap His arms around the bereaved, to comfort them, to give them the peace which only He can give, to heal them physically, mentally and spiritually, and this prayer is prayed too, for all the surgeons, doctors, nurses, firemen, the ordinary man, and woman, the friends, the neighbours - all of them reaching out to the dear ones in a caring love and compassion, a love which God has placed in their hearts.
I personally pray that God in His mighty power will touch the hearts of those who are working and striving for peace, that peace will come, to not only my dear home town, but all of Ireland, and this prayer I offer to God, in His precious name and for His sake. Yours,
Hazel Wilson (nee McBride)
