YOU DID NOT DESERVE ALL THIS

You did not deserve all this'

Sir,
To the dear people of Omagh:
On behalf of many who have recently watched helplessly as some of your gallant citizens were either murdered, severely injured, left with broken hearts, homes and disjointed businesses, I write to express however inadequately, a heartful sorrow.
You did not deserve all this. What one of us has not been moved to tears as we witnessed and felt experiences beyond words to describe. The word "stunned" has taken on a new meaning and dimension for many in our land.
Please know that you have many friends who will either be walking with you or behind you in the coming days and years as you set yourselves to climb whatever mountain awaits you.
They will be cheering you on to the top. Already by your example you are reminding us all once again of the significant difference which exists between the two words "responding" and "reacting".
God be with you and your loved ones to the end.
Yours,
Marshall Edwards,
Lisburn.
