Charity golf event for memorial fund

A MAJOR charity golf event which could raise in the region of £50,000 for the Omagh Memorial Fund, will be held at various clubs in the Province and Dundalk, before climaxing with a grand final in Omagh.
The idea is the brainchild of four Newry businessmen, good friends of Omagh, who are hoping to bring more than 60 clubs together, for the major event.
Each of the clubs involved will play a separate fund-raising event, before converging with celebrities on the Omagh course for the grand final.
The captain, president, council and members of Omagh Golf Club are understood to be overwhelmed with this great act of solidarity from clubs throughout the Province and further afield and are preparing to make this the most important event ever staged at the Tyrone venue.
The grand final will take place at the club on Saturday and Sunday, October 11 and 12.
The local qualifying event will take place on Sunday.
