MONEY FLOWING IN FOR MEMORIAL FUND

MONEY has been flowing into the Omagh Memorial Fund, set up by the district council in the wake of the bombing almost three weeks ago.
A council spokesman confirmed on Tuesday that a total of £72,000 had already been lodged in the account, but with pledges from elsewhere it was hoped that it would top £500,000.
"We have received commitments from a lot of companies across Northern Ireland and the south, as well as in Britain, who want to help. Donations have been going very well, and the money is starting to gather up," the spokesman said.
The account for the fund is at the First Trust Bank in Omagh's High Street, the number for which is 55876365, sort code 93 81 30.
Direct payment can also be made to Omagh District Council, and cheques should be made payable to the 'Omagh Memorial Fund'.
The money will be used for the benefit of the relatives of those who lost their lives, as well as those injured and maimed, and will be distributed by the fund's Trustees.
It may also be used to provide suitable memorials and activities, or in support of various charities, at the discretion of the Trustees.
