YOUTH AT FOREFRONT OF SUFFERING
Youth at forefront of suffering
THE youth of Omagh is at the forefront of suffering, according to Northern Ireland's Youth Council.
Pointing out that over half of those killed were children or young people, Youth Council chairman, Mr Michael Murphy, expressed his sympathies to all those affected by the bomb.
"No community should ever have to suffer the way the people of Omagh, and their Saturday visitors, have been made to suffer," he said.
He said that young people throughout Northern Ireland, regardless of their politics and religion, were distraught by the sheer destruction wrought by the bomb.
"The young people of the province have already shown commitment and desire to help to develop a new vision for our country," said Mr Murphy.
He said that young people should use their many talents to help build a society which provides them with opportunities to achieve their full potential in peace and prosperity.
