CYCLING FESTIVAL CANCELLED
FOLLOWING much deliberation, the committee of the Sperrins Cycling Festival, with the support of Omagh District Council, has decided to cancel the programme of events.
The cycling festival was to have been a community event for the Western Sperrins, involving over 14 community groups in the Omagh and Strabane district council areas.
Starting in Omagh events were to take place throughout the region, and were designed to involve as many cyclists as possible in a wide variety of cycling events.
"Many of the communities will run other events throughout the autumn period. The launch of the National Cycle Network will also take place in a couple of months, and planning for the next Sperrins Cycling Festival will begin in October," said a member of the organising committee.
The committee has thanked the funders and community groups who supported the event.
