FIRST RAYS OF HOPE

FIRST RAYS OF HOPE

Sir,
Amidst the pain and suffering that pervaded Omagh last week came the first rays of hope as we mingled in the crowds gathered for an 'Act of Reflection' last Saturday.
Although now resident elsewhere in the province it was an honour for my wife and myself to share solidarity with our friends in Omagh.
It was uplifting to listen to the words spoken and prayers offered, as the gently warming breeze dried the tears on a thousand faces.
But it was the noise and play and laughter of the children, echoing around High Street and Market Street that lifted the spirits.
The town once more had a ring of normality. Let the children never be silenced again and let us proudly move forward in the unity etched in the faces of innocence that shone so brightly once more last Saturday.
Yours,
Linda and William Reynolds, 87 Dermott Road, Comber, Co.Down.
