CHILDHOOD MEMORIES MARRED BY AWFUL TRAGEDY

Childhood memories marred by awful tragedy

Sir,
May I, as someone who spent the first 15 years of my life in Omagh send loving and sorrowful thoughts to all who have suffered so greviously.
Although away from what I always think of as home for many years I do return frequently on nostalgic trips and have had the privilege of speaking to the West Tyrone Historical Society and many other societies on my life as a "railway child" in the station houses in Omagh, Beragh and Sixmilecross.
I would like the people of Omagh to know that this horror will not pass readily from memory, it will stay with me for the rest of my life.
My childhood in Omagh was blissful - 1 have nothing but happy memories. How I wish it had not been marred by this awful tragedy.
My thoughts are with all of you. - Yours,
JOY CAMPBELL
(nee Semple)
Ballynahinch, Co. Down.
