DROMORE REMEMBERS
The people of Dromore joined with other towns and villages across Northern Ireland and beyond in a Service of Reflection in memory of those who were killed and injured in the horrific bomb blast in Omagh.
A very large number of men, women and children packed the play area in the village on Saturday at 3p.m.
After the introduction by Rev. Tom Breen a minute's silence was observed. The opening prayer was read by Mrs. Briege Kelly. The names of those who lost their lives so tragically were read by Mr. Wesley Stevenson, Miss Anne Mullin and Miss Naomi Henderson.
The music for the three hymns "Make me a Channel of your Peace", "The Lord is my Shepherd", and "Be thou my vision" was supplied by Mrs. Gail McGowan (guitar) and Mr. Aiden O'Neill (flute).
Rev. Don Gamble led the prayers for the bereaved, the injured and all those who were suffering from the effects of the bomb.
Scripture readings were by Mr. Charles Kenwell and Mr. Hugh Colton.
Mrs. Gail McGowan sang a special composition which she wrote specially for the people of Omagh and accompanied herself on the guitar.
Mr. Aiden O'Neill played AG CRIST AN SIOL on the flute. After the last hymn Mrs. Eileen Turner said a short prayer and Rev. Don Gamble pronounced the blessing.
