FROM A FINTONA MAN WITH LOVE (POEM)

FROM A FINTONA MAN WITH LOVE

Dear Omagh,
I thought to have left you long ago,
But now it turns that since my love
Has been realised by a good woman.
There is much to spare. It flows
in all directions and passes the
Old Academy heading for you.
Take and use it, mop your tears,
with me, wring me out and repeat.
And when I am dishcloth grey from use,
Bleach me with your unity and so again.
O mother, you are well out of it,
Since December '95, but Marshall still
weeps. Hate versus love, love prevails.
