MEMORIAL TRUST FUND
A TRUST fund has been set up by the district council in the wake of the Omagh bombing.
The account for the Omagh Memorial Fund is at the First Trust Bank in the town's High Street, and payments can be made by cash, cheque, visa, or postal order. The account number is 55876365, sort code 93 81 30.
Direct payment can also be made to Omagh District Council, and all cheques should be made payable to 'Omagh Memorial Fund'
A facility to receive donations is available at any Post Office, Account Freepay 3050.
The council's chief executive, Mr John McKinney, said a formal Trust Deed governing the fund and its application was currently being prepared.
He said it would be at the discretion of the trustees to apply the fund for the benefit of those who died or were injured as a result of the tragedy, their relatives and dependants, and also those who had been adversely affected by the atrocity.
It would also be used, at the discretion of the trustees, to provide suitable memorials and activities, or to support appropriate charities or charitable purposes, he said.
"We are convinced that the appeal for this fund will be a great success, and that the fund will be distributed as soon as practicable," Mr
McKinney said.
"The Trustees will be sensitive to the needs of the victims and their families in this tragedy which has overtaken them."
