NATIONAL CATTLE SHOW CANCELLED

National cattle show cancelled

THE Northern Ireland National Charolais Show, due to be staged at Ecclesville Equestrian Centre, Fintona, on Saturday has been cancelled.
This national event, is organised in conjunction with Omagh District Council who helped launch the first national show last year. It is part funded by the British Charolais Cattle Society, and has also attracted 12,000 of sponsorship from the agri-business sector in the province.
David Benson, chief executive of the British Charolais Cattle Society said: "All of the GB visitors who planned to attend send their sympathy to the bereaved in Omagh and the surrounding district. We also send sincere best wishes to the entire community who have to re-build their lives after his tragic event and especially to those of our sponsors who have been personally affected".
He went on to say that it was the co-operation of the entire community from all walks of life which had planned and developed Ecclesville, a centre with unique facilities for staging national events. He hoped that the same spirit of co-operation would see the community through their current nightmare.
