TIME FOR ALL TO COME TOGETHER

Time for all to come together

Sir,
My thoughts are with the families of the bereaved and injured. It will take a long time to get over this atrocity which has devastated the close knit community of Omagh and surrounding districts.
This is not a time for recrimination and blame. Now is the time for us all to come together to support and comfort the families who are so brutally traumatised by this wicked act.
I would like to pay tribute to all the staff at the Tyrone County Hospital, the Ambulance Service and all the very brave members of the public for the courageous and efficient handling of the aftermath of the bomb. The actions of the staff have been attributed to saving many lives, stabilising patients before transferring to specialist units. This has been acknowledged worldwide.
A fitting memorial to this tragedy would be for us to make a further determination to retain our local hospital as a viable thriving acute services facility with full 24 hour accident and emergency cover.
