AREA PLUNGED INTO DEEP SORROW

IN a statement issued on Tuesday the West Tyrone Ulster Unionist Association said the people of Omagh and the surrounding district had been plunged into deep sorrow and much grief by the savage and cowardly atrocity of Saturday.
Mr. James Emery, the association's press officer, went on to extend its deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to each of the bereaved families in their sudden and severe loss of loved ones.
Many of the critically injured, he said, were still in hospital with horrific injuries, and would bear the scars for life.
"The anxiety for the families of the injured as they wait and hope for recovery must also be remembered," said Mr. Emery.
His statement added that tributes must also be paid to all who helped at the bomb scene, and to the doctors, surgeons, nurses and hospital staff in the many hospitals throughout the Province for their heroic efforts in helping the injured.
