WORLD'S MEDIA DESCENDS ON OMAGH

World's media descends on Omagh

THE world's Press descended on Omagh in the wake of Saturday's bomb.
Print, radio and television journalists and their accompanying camera crews were in the town within hours, and Campsie Bridge became their 'pitch' for the next few days.
Television crews from around the world were present. Among other countries, stations in the USA, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Holland and Japan were represented.
Pictures of the scene and interviews were beamed from satellite vans parked behind Mr. William Mcllveen's shop.
Both the Royal Arms and Silverbirch hotels were totally booked out by visiting journalists, with many more staying in guest houses in and around the town.
