AREA SET FOR ANOTHER DAY OF MOURNING
THE Omagh area is set for another day of intense mourning as the last eight victims of Saturday's horrendous town centre bomb blast are laid to rest.
Already, 20 of the victims of Northern Ireland's worst atrocity have been buried, with funerals taking place not only in Tyrone, but in Co. Donegal, and in Spain.
The first of today's final eight funerals will be at Omagh's Sacred Heart Church, with a 10am mass for Mrs. Geraldine Breslin, one of three Watterson's shop staff to die in the bombing.
Her good friend and colleague, Mrs. Ann McCombe, will be buried after a service in Mountjoy Presbyterian Church at 3pm.
Before that, 21-year-old Julia Hughes's funeral service will take place at Omagh Methodist Church at 11.45am; the service for 20-year-old Debra-Anne Cartwright will take place in St. Columba's Parish, also this morning at 10.15; and the service for Samanatha McFarland will be held at Lislimnaghan Parish Church, the cortege leaving her home, also at 10.15am.
A 2pm mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, Drumragh for Mrs. Libbi Rush, and outside the town, St. Mary's, Killyclogher will be the setting for the noon service for Mr. Brian McCrory.
The service for Esther Gibson will take place in Sixmilecross Free Presbyterian Church, at 2.30pm..
There were 16 burials yesterday, one of them a double funeral, for father and son, Fred and Bryan White, at Creevan Presbyterian Church, near Omagh.
All three Co Donegal victims were also buried yesterday in Buncrana.
Twenty-four hours earlier, there had been another double interment, following the poignant funeral mass, in a tiny church in Augher, for 30-year-old mother of four. Avril Monaghan, and her 18-month-old daughter. Maura, the terrorists' youngest victim.
Also late on Tuesday a 12-year-old Spanish boy and the teacher who died with him were buried in their native Madrid.
