THE CHILDREN (POEM)
THE CHILDREN'
God please protect the children
In this bad and cruel land.
Upon them place your blessing
With your strong, yet gentle hand.
These children are the future
Of this world of hate and strife.
Where nothing now is sacred
Not even a child's own life.
Let's pray now for a peaceful time,
So please Lord give us guidance
On how to rid this land of ours
Of terrorists and their violence.
And then O Lord and only then
Our children will be free.
To laugh and play together
With hearts o'er filled with glee.
No more abuse and suffering
Or broken homes to fear.
Just a little love and kindness
To help wipe away a tear.
Till then Lord take the children
And place them in your care.
Wrap your arms around them
Mankind can't harm them there.
