CAVALIER USED IN BOMB ATTACK
DETECTIVES investigating Saturday's explosion believe the car used to contain the bomb was a maroon Vauxhall Cavalier, stolen in Carrickmacross in the Republic of Ireland on Thursday last.
The car, which was taken from Macartans Villas in the town, bore the registration number 91 DL 2554. Police believe that, when it was parked in Omagh, it may have been bearing the number MDZ 5211.
And they have appealed to anyone who saw the car being parked, or any other vehicle being driven suspiciously, to contact them at the incident room in Omagh, telephone 246979.
They are also anxious to speak to anyone who was in the town leading up to when the bomb exploded, and who saw anything suspicious in Market Street.
Meanwhile, Gardai have also appealed for information in tracking the movements of the vehicle from when it was stolen in Carrickmacross.
Anyone who can help is asked to contact any Garda station.
