MCDOWELL LOSES THE PLOT
McDowell loses the plot!
The Irish Justice Minister, Michael McDowell, should be yanked from his post forthwith and sent on a comprehensive course in PR.
Last week, he agreed to meet relatives of the Omagh bomb victims, who had some pretty searching questions to put to him about the Irish government's role in the Omagh investigation.
You'd think he might have guessed that they weren't making a round trip of 300 miles to talk about the weather.
But, minister McDowell refused to answer questions, threatening to storm out of the meeting and, according to the Omagh group, they were treated "like idiots".
The crowning insult came, when Mr McDowell revealed he had not even read the report into the Omagh investigation, by PSNI Ombudsman, Nuala O'Loan.
I hope to goodness, that during the Omagh group's forthcoming civil case against the people they believe murdered their loved ones, they call minister McDowell to the witness stand, where he can be grilled by a merciless barrister.
If he then behaves in similar fashion, his shame will be public for all the world to see.
