Una masks agony 'for the rest of my life...'
TEENAGER Una McGurk, above, spent eight weeks in hospital after the bomb that ripped the heart out of Omagh.
She suffered facial, and leg, injuries, and still has shrapnel in her body as a result of the dissident republican terrorist obscenity in which 29 people died - not counting unborn twins - and a further 350 were injured.
Una, 15, said: "I hate to think, if I get married, I'll have these scars on my wedding day.
My friends are worried about how their hair is sitting, but I have to live with this for the rest of my life."
Discussions on a permanent memorial, and plans for a centre for reconciliation and healing, will take place after the anniversary.
A wave of compassion for Omagh from around the world, and the many new cross-community groups, such as the churches forum and youth choir, are proving good can come from evil, but the town will always have its sad memories.
Council chief executive, John McKinney, said: "A lot will happen in Omagh as a result of the bomb but we've always got to remember why."
