Lions roar for Omagh

CELTIC'S legendary Lisbon Lions are the latest sporting giants to throw their weight behind the Omagh Appeal Fund.
Billy McNeill, captain of the 1967 European Cup winners, and teammates from the famous Lisbon triumph over Inter Milan, will be guests of honour at a Gala Night in Omagh's Royal Arms Hotel on Friday, January 8.
The function is being organised by the Omagh district Celtic Supporters' Club and backed by their powerful Irish Association.
That connection will see Celtic fans from all over Ireland flock to the £15 a head event.
Jerseys autographed by the Lions and present day Celtic teams will be auctioned to boost the fund-raiser for the Appeal.
And with the Scottish season on winter break, stars from the reigning champions are also expected to be in attendance.

The Omagh dinner date will coincide with the launch of a new supporter magazine by the growing in strength Irish Association.
Called 'View From The 32' (as in counties), it will 'be a full-colour Irish version of the popular Celtic View published in Scotland.
The Irish Association, which now embraces virtually every Celtic Supporters' Club in the province, is also offering cut-price assisted travel to Celtic's two big away matches over Christmas and the New Year.
