Judge them by their actions'
SHADOW Northern Ireland Secretary, Andrew Mackay, warned that the INLA would be judged on its future actions, and not mere words.
"Let us hope the dreadful killings in Omagh have really brought the INLA to its senses, and that this ceasefire is for real."
PUP boss, Billy Hutchinson, who has survived three INLA attempts on his life over the past 18 months, welcomed the statement "with scepticism". West Tyrone Ulster Unionist MP, William Thompson, whose constituency includes Omagh, said he hoped the ceasefire was genuine, and not called because of the threat of a security clampdown.
The Republic's Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, said he was now hoping that the Real IRA would turn its suspension of violence into "a definitive and unqualified cessation of violence".
