£50,000 symbol of future for Omagh

A NEW £50,000 public art sculpture in the form of an illuminated dandelion has been unveiled at Omagh's Community House.
The work titled Make a Wish was produced by artist Alex Pentek as part of the redevelopment of that part of Omagh, destroyed by the 1998 bombing.
Mr Pentek said the community was involved in consultation and dialogue to select the sculpture.
"It is about renewal, regeneration and hope and I thought the dandelion symbolised that. It's also about the winds of change and the seeds are carried off, and there is hope for the future," he said.
