THE Northern Ireland Policing Board is set to meet bereaved relatives of the victims of the Omagh bomb and those affected by it today.
Justice campaigner Michael Gallagher said it is the first meeting the families have had with any government body since the acquittal of Sean Hoey.
Mr Gallagher said the aim of the meeting is to allow families to voice their concerns about the trial which lasted 56 days and ended with a damning indictment of police and forensic science standards used in the trial.
"The families are hoping that all members of the board will attend to hear their views on a way forward," he said.
"The main thrust of the meeting is that everything else has been tried and failed, so let's try for a full cross-border inquiry - there are not many options left at this stage," said Mr Gallagher.
The Real IRA car bomb attack on Omagh on August 15, 1998, claimed the lives of 29 individuals and unborn twins.
Hundreds of others were injured and traumatised in the atrocity.
