Omagh suspect denies terror plots
AN electrician accused of making the Omagh bomb appeared in court yesterday charged with plotting a whole series of terror strikes.
Sean Gerard Hoey, 34, denies involvement in a string of attacks leading up to the Real IRA massacre.
He faces 20 charges involving explosives and membership of the dissident republican organisation behind the Omagh outrage which killed 29 people and unborn twins in the worst single act of the Troubles.
The alleged offences include possession of a timer power unit between March, 1997, and August 16,1998, - the day after terrorists devastated the Co Tyrone market town.
He is also accused of conspiring to cause explosions at a police station in Armagh, in nearby Blackwatertown and in Banbridge, Co Down, in the run-up to the Omagh attack.
Hoey, of Molly Road, Jonesborough, Co Armagh, has already had a High Court bail application rejected.
But, as he appeared before a magistrate in Craigavon via video link, the court heard more time was needed to prepare the case.
The hearing was adjourned Until August 19.
