OMAGH GIRL CLAIRE HAS BOYZONE TREAT
Omagh girl Claire has Boyzone treat
TV Santa Noel Edmonds will warm the hearts of millions by bringing Christmas Day joy to a teenager blinded in the Omagh bombing atrocity.
Fifteen-year-old Claire Gallagher lost her sight when she was seriously injured in the Real IRA's August 15 bombing which slaughtered 29 and injured hundreds of others.
Saturday Night House Party host Edmonds delighted music student Claire by introducing her to her pop idols Boyzone.
Omagh girl Claire, according to Noel's BBC team, was delighted to meet the Dublin pin-ups.
Viewers will see the bearded presenter spring his festive surprise on Claire on his Noel Edmonds' Present show which will be screened on Christmas Day immediately after the Queen's traditional speech.
Claire is also planning to go along to Boyzone's post-Christmas concert in Omagh.
Boyzone singer Ronan Keating said that they had wanted to do something to help the people of Omagh for some time.
Because of their commitments at the Miss World contest and various other prior-arranged engagements in England they were unable to take part in Gay Byrne's RTE TV Late, Late Show tribute to the people of Omagh and so they arranged the live concert instead.
"We hope to raise as much money for the Omagh fund as we possibly can," said Ronan.
