Boxers weigh in for Omagh
AROUND 1,000 people packed Omagh Leisure Centre last night to see six former world champion boxers raise money for the victims of August's bomb blast in the town.
The capacity crowd, which included some of those who had lost relatives and suffered injuries in the attack, held a minute's silence for the dead.
One-time world heavyweight champion Frank Bruno and Clones man Barry McGuigan were among the stars who gave their time for the fund-raiser.
"It is a pretty important evening and it's the and it's the boxing community's night to show that we. care as well and we are here for that reason," said Mr McGuigan.
Twenty-nine people died and hundreds of others were injured with the Real IRA bomb exploded in the town on August 15.
