OMAGH BOMB MERCY MISSION
Omagh bomb mercy mission
I'M appalled that the DPP should be considering pressing a charge against the unfortunate ambulance driver on a mercy mission during the aftermath of the Omagh bombing, particularly after the crash victim's wife made her public statement of sympathy with the ambulance driver's predicament and also her desire not to press charges.
No doubt this is now going to develop into yet another case of meals on wheels for legal carnivores.
But every citizen of Northern Ireland should now be worried about the message this action is going to send out to the next paramedic driving an ambulance in an emergency.
The DPP should have a good long hard think about that.
