BOMB SUSPECT RELEASED

Bomb suspect released

A MAN arrested in connection with the investigation into the Omagh bombing last night successfully challenged Eire's new anti-terrorist laws.
The High Court in Dublin ordered that 23-year-old Deaglan Lavery should be released from police custody after a judge ruled that his solicitor should have access to notes of his interviews while in police custody.
Lavery, of Sliabh Foy Park in Dundalk, was one of three men arrested at 7am on Wednesday by Eire police investigating the Omagh bombing.
Under Eire's new anti-terrorist laws he was due to be freed by 7am today, unless charged, but last night his lawyers brought an habeas corpus application before a High Court judge in Dublin, which was successful.
