TEARS OF A PRESIDENT
TEARS OF A PRESIDENT
IT was the moment when even a President could not hide his emotions.
Surveying the Omagh bomb site, President Clinton wipes away a tear after unveiling a memorial plaque to the victims.
Harrowing stories from the survivors and relatives of the dead had so deeply affected him that he was visibly strained for the remainder of his visit.
Shaking with emotion, Mr Clinton's voice cracked as he told the survivors: "We will work to build this peace, to make it a place where children can dream - to redeem the loss of innocents from the madness of people who must fail so that your life can go on."
