CLINTON TRIBUTE

PRESIDENT Bill Clinton will pay his own personal tribute to the people of Omagh when he visits the shattered town this afternoon.
On what is certain to be an emotional occasion, the President and his wife Hillary will meet survivors of the blast and the families of those murdered when the 500lb bomb tore through the centre of the town nearly three weeks ago.
It is understood Mr Clinton will unveil a plaque to the bomb victims and meet members of the emergency services who battled to rescue survivors.
The visit is scheduled to take place alter the couple perform a number of engagements, including a visit to the proposed University of Ulster site at Springvale. They will be accompanied throughout the day by Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie.
Mr Blair will greet the President on his arrival in the Province a day behind Mrs Clinton, who yesterday said she and her husband would be paying tribute to those who were "murdered by the enemies of peace".
Speaking at a Women in Democracy continence in Belfast's Waterfront Hull, she paid tribute to the work done by women in the search for a lasting peace, claiming: "You will only move forward and as you do please know that, America will stand with you."
