ADAMS: I WANT AN END TO WAR
SINN FEIN President Gerry Adams last night made what many saw as an effective "war is over" statement - and immediately came under pressure to destroy the weapons of terrorism. First Minister David Trimble welcomed the statement but added: "Carefully crafted words are not enough. Sinn Fein will be judged on their actions over the coming days".
Mr Adams said: "I and Sinn Fein believe the violence we have seen must be for all of us now a thing of the past, over, done with, and gone".
