Yes' vote aided Omagh bombers
As we reflect at this time of the year on Omagh, I wonder just how many of those who voted in support of the Good Friday Agreement realise that, in doing so, they contributed to the worst atrocity in the Northern Ireland Troubles, for one of the direct results of that Agreement was the dismantling of security which enabled the terrorists to have a clear run to and from Omagh. In the aftermath of that terrible event we were told that the 'Draconian' laws in Eire would soon bring to justice the culprits.
It is a well-known fact that the most of the IRA weapons are stashed in Eire, and while the security forces are continuing here in Northern Ireland to search for weapons, is it not the duty of the government in Eire to find the Semtex and guns and put them out of commission?
As it is, these weapons have become a vital part of the 'horse-trading' which produced the so-called peace process which was constructed on ambiguity, equivocation and deceit to 'con' the electorate.
After the shock of the recent European election in which the majority of Unionists voted against the Good Friday Agreement, it is hardly likely that a referendum will be allowed on what might emerge from the coming review under the cunning manipulation of Mr Mitchell.
When will the Secretary of State make it clear what constitutes a breakdown of a ceasefire?
Could it be that it is nothing less than the bombing of London by Sinn Fein/IRA?
The Peace Process ship, cobbled together by the politics of duplicity and expediency, could founder on the rocks, and end up in the breaker's yard.
