FAVOURITE SON SINGS FOR BLAST APPEAL
Favourite son sings for blast appeal
OMAGH singer Dominic Kirwan has raised £21,000 for the appeal fund set up in his home town after the August 15 bomb.
The money was raised by Dominic at his shows in England with the help of his network of fans in various parts of the mainland.
A special night at the Galtymore Club in London last week featuring Dominic and other performers netted £13,000, while the balance flowed in from shows at other centres across the country.
Inverness-based Alison Gray, the secretary of the Dominic Kirwan Fan Club in the United Kingdom, said it had been a spontaneous effort which demonstrated the feeling of sympathy there was on the mainland for the people of Omagh and those who had suffered from the bomb attack.
