Documentaries mark anniversary
THE 10th anniversary of the Omagh bomb is being marked by two special television documentaries.
The bomb caused the worst single loss of life in Northern Ireland during the Troubles, claiming the lives of 29 people and unborn twins. More than 300 were injured.
The programmes focus on two young people horribly injured in the bombing and their battle to recover.
The first, Omagh - The Legacy was originally screened in 1999.
It followed the courageous and often heartbreaking struggle back to health of 15-year-old Claire Gallagher who lost her sight in the explosion and nine-year-old Stephen Coyle from Strabane who suffered massive internal injuries and lost a major part of his shoulder.
The second programme revisits Claire and Stephen to see how they have coped over the years.
Both documentaries are narrated by Liam Neeson. Omagh - the Legacy is to be screened on BBC One Northern Ireland tomorrow at 10.45pm, while Omagh -The Legacy: Ten Years On is aired on Thursday at 10.35pm.
