AS I WAS MAKING MY WAY TO TO GUILDHALL SQUARE
As I was making my way to Guildhall Square on Saturday afternoon for the 3-10pm peace vigil to coincide with the interdenominational services
in Omagh and across the land, purely by chance I bumped into the victim of another terrorist bombing outrage.
He doesn't want to be named so I will omit to name the outrage as well, in case it identifies him, but it was one where he was injured, others around him lay dead and dying and the place he worked at was destroyed. Despite being personally through all that, he had a message for the beleaguered business owners and employees of tragic Omagh -go back to work as soon as you can.
He recalled: "As soon as I was well enough again I went back into work. The place was rebuilt from the ruins but everyday there was always something there to remind you and sometimes people would come in and ask - were you here the day of the bomb? But having said that it also helps your recovery. You get back to a sort of normality in your life. Omagh was a terrible outrage but when the shops open and customers and
shoppers start coming into the town centre again it will be good for everyone - and show the bombers that they can never win."
