Trimble 'interviews' his troops
ULSTER Unionist leader David Trimble yesterday began a process of face-to-face meetings with all 28 members of his Assembly team.
His talks with each individual took place at Castle Buildings, Stormont, and the process will be spread over several days.
Purpose of the painstaking exercise, according to a Trimble aide, is to find out the "particular skills and areas of interest" of each member to help when it comes to choosing people for Assembly committees.
A party source said: "Only those members who ran as official Ulster Unionist candidates are being consulted by the leader. Members suspended by Glengall Street for running against official candidates are not included in the exercise."
