ENNISKILLEN EXPRESSES FELLOW-FEELING
Enniskillen expresses fellow-feeling
ONE of the first groups to express its sympathy with the people of Omagh was Fermanagh District Council.
Based in Enniskillen, scene of another of Ulster's worst atrocities, the Fermanagh councillors expressed their sympathy to the families of the bereaved and injured and condemned those who carried out the attack.
In a motion tabled at an emergency meeting of the council yesterday morning, the councillors stated: "The people of Fermanagh have a fundamental understanding of the deep hurt, pain and suffering felt by our neighbouring community in Omagh.
"We demand an immediate cessation of all such actions. We ask for peace. This must stop now."
The councillors were joined by representatives of all the churches who led the council in prayers for the families and wider community who have been effected by the tragedy.
