INNOCENT BLOOD

Innocent blood

Innocent Blood is a biblical phrase, from old and new testament scriptures, which has a particular significance in light of the cold blooded murder and mutilation of ordinary people in Omagh on Saturday.
The scenes of horror and misery are now unfolding as many families are facing the awful reality of sorrow, hurt and profound loss.
Yet amidst such heart-rending circumstances there is a voice of comfort, there is a word of hope and consolation for the troubled of Omagh (Psalm 46:1) God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Matthew 11:28) Christ saith: Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Such a word comes from the God of all comfort to a people that have been so cruelly afflicted. My heart has been deeply stirred by this vile and sinful attack against humanity and with all of the people of God I pray for these victims of brutal atrocity.
