SAME OLD STORY FROM THE TOP
Same old story from the top
Quote: "An act of inhuman savagery committed by a small group with little support. We will not allow them to succeed." Omagh 1998? No, Enniskillen 1985.
Fourteen years later, we hear the same pious nonsense from the same talking heads. In the meantime, the organisation responsible for the Enniskillen massacre, and thousands of other brutal deaths, is having its finest killers released from jail, and its political apologists moved into power.
It would become the Prime Minister, Secretary of State and others if they had the honesty to come out and frankly admit that they seek to compromise with terrorism, not to defeat it. Watching their crocodile tears at an inevitable consequence of their own actions can only lead one to accept that power corrupts.
As for Gerry Adams' condemnation of this act of Irish republican butchery, one merely has to think of Bloody Friday to wretch at the sheer scale of hypocrisy involved.
The Stormont Agreement is yielding a bitter harvest.
