Ambulance mercy dash tragedy
A TAXI-driver died and three people were injured when his vehicle collided with an ambulance rushing a victim of the Omagh massacre to the Ulster Hospital at Dundonald yesterday morning.
The ambulance crew who had dashed from the Erne Hospital in Enniskillen with a Spanish girl on board were only one mile from their destination when they collided with the Renault taxi at the junction of the Knock Road and King's Road, Belfast, at 9.35am.
Police named the dead man as Gary White, 38, from Lansdowne Road, Newtownards.
