Friends mourn student Julie's death
FRIENDS of a young university student killed in the Omagh blast wept last night as they remembered her as "bright and bubbly".
Julie Hughes, 21, had been working at her part-time holiday job in Image Xpress, a photoshop in High Street, when she was evacuated and, like hundreds of others, ran into the full force of the blast.
Miss Hughes had been studying at Dundee University and was home with her parents for the summer holiday.
At her parents' smart home on the outskirts of Omagh last night, there was a constant stream of young friends coming to pay their respects to her parents, Helen and Alec, who were too distressed to speak.
One young girl burst into tears as she described Julie as "bubbly - always game for a laugh".
Julie was a popular girl in the town, she said, and still kept in touch with her friends there, despite being away at university.
