Gentle giant 'hadn't an enemy in world'
BIG Aidan Gallagher, who died shopping for a pair of jeans, hadn't an enemy in the world, his heartbroken father Michael said last night.
Aidan, 21, who was 6ft 2ins, had been missing for more than 12 hours before his family were told he was dead.
His father, who had a brother, a UDR soldier, shot dead by the IRA in 1984, said the family was devastated.
He said: "It's all so futile. We all thought we had peace. We all voted for peace, including Aidan. This isn't a sectarian family because bigotry would be the worst sin in this house."
Aidan's sister Sharon said: "I shared so much of his life and I wanted to share more of it, but they have robbed me of that.
"The people who planted that bomb are worse than animals.
"But look how many other families are grieving as well. These people (the terrorists) don't care. They have no conscience."
Aidan had been out shopping for a new pair of jeans when he was caught up in the horrific blast.
His father added: "He enjoyed life because he didn't take anything too seriously and he was never involved in any sort of trouble. He never gave us any bother.
"It all seems so unreal, and he died when he had so much to live for.
"He never really got to achieve everything he ever wanted to achieve in life, and that's why it's so heartbreaking.
"He had no enemies. He hadn't an enemy in the world."
