A LAMENT FROM WHERE THE RIVERS MEET

For the wife of Fred White, 18 Knockgreenan Avenue, the mother of their only son Bryan, and for the family of Esther Gibson, "Usnagh', 47 Redergan Road, Beragh, the pain of their cruel killing is such that we must kneel at the edge with our sympathy and prayers. We respect their wishes, and simply recall what was said publicly at the time of their dearest ones' passing: the trust of a loving wife and mother in the words of Jesus- "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in Heaven"; the comfort that heartbroken parents draw from the psalmist's words- "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints"; the lament of a fiance- "Thank you for the life we shared, the love you gave, the way you cared. You left a place no-one can fill. I love you - and always will".

Let there now be peace among us, flowing like the river of life from the throne of God and of His Lamb, down through the middle of the street of the new Jerusalem, and carrying our song of loving sadness and God-given hope. On either side of the river, the seer saw the trees of life, the leaves of which were for the healing of the nations.
