Julia Hughes
On November 12th, 1998, Julia's family attended the planting of a silver birch tree in her memory at the Department of Accountancy and Business Finance in the University of Dundee. They unveiled a brass plaque set in rough stone beneath the tree. It read:
"Julia Hughes B.Acc
Year of 1995
Remember me in spirit, as Julia,
The way you always knew me. "
The chaplain explained that the silver birch was known as "the lady of the woods. "
