A RETIRED businessman became the 29th victim of the Omagh bombing on Saturday when he died in Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital. Mr Sean McGrath (61) had been in a critical condition since the explosion three weeks ago.
Mr McGrath had lived a few miles outside the Co Tyrone town and was described by his friend and independent Omagh councillor Mr Paddy McGowan as a fine man, "a decent and very generous gentleman, unassuming and charitable". Mr McGrath, who had closed his bakery business and retired about two years ago, leaves a wife, two sons and two daughters.
Northern Secretary Dr Mowlam expressed her sadness at Mr McGrath's death. "My heart goes out to the family and relatives of Mr McGrath as they try to come to terms with their loss," she said in a statement.
