GAA to give match fees to bomb victims
THE Gaelic Athletic Association said yesterday that most of the proceeds from the All-Ireland hurling semi-final on Saturday will be used to alleviate the sufferings of the surviving Omagh bomb victims.
The GAA president, Mr Joe McDonagh, said it was not possible to say how much money will be raised but it will probably be a six-figure sum.
The game will be played in Semple Stadium, Thurles. It will be preceded by the All-Ireland Under-21 hurling semi-final between Galway and Kilkenny. Admission will be half the normal price.
