OMAGH ARTISTS OFFER BRIDGE OF HOPE
CD for bomb victims on sale

THE CD to raise funds for the Omagh fund featuring the song Broken Things by Northern Ireland singer-songwriter Juliet Turner goes on release today,
The song which was performed by the Omagh artist as part of the memorial service held on the steps of the court house a week after the August 15 bomb touched the hearts of everyone across Northern Ireland.
The title of the CD Across the Bridge of Hope, is taken from the last line of the poem The Bridge, written by 12-year-old Buncrana schoolboy Shaun McLaughlin who died in the blast.
Ballymena-born film star Liam Neeson is also featured on the album, reciting The Bridge and the Seamus Heaney poem The Cure at Troy.
The Omagh Community Youth Choir formed after the atrocity perform the eponymous song which was written especially for the CD by former chart topper and now record producer BA Robertson,
Tony Lenaghan, support manager at Virgin Mega store, said they had received a deluge of calls in the past week asking when they could buy the disc. He said: "We are expecting the CD to fly off the shelves. Not only is it for a very good cause but as a quality product as well. It is a very good compilation."
The Corrigans from south Belfast, who have relations in Omagh said they would be among the first to buy the CD. Aidan Corrigan, shopping with seven year-old daughter Rebecca, said the town was close to their hearts.
He said: "My mother and three sisters have all lived there for quite a time and are still trying to come to terms with the shock. It is still at the forefront of our minds."
